About Mother Bear

Hi, I'm Ashlee! I'm a married mamma living in central Texas, and have a little girl. We have a little Papillon, and some hermit crabs, and have kind of taken it upon ourselves to be the neighborhood pet finders and returners. :P I've done a lot in my short 26 years here, but I'm happy to feel like I'm definitely best at being a mom. I've worked at call centers, restaurants, a television show and even a zoo, and I have to say, absolutely no line of work is more rewarding than raising a child. And yes, it's work! But work should be fun, and filled with love, laughter and enrichment.

For those things, I decided to start a blog a while back when friends and other parents began to grow increasingly more interested in our crafts, activities and recipes, and here I am today! I love to share neat things, including articles, videos and products, and boy am I all about cheap and easy. But even more, I love to hear from you guys! I'd like to hear what y'all think about the recipes, what you've done differently in the crafts, and what you've done this week that you think we should try over here! Please bear with some of my first posts, most of them from 2012 to mid 2013, as I was very new to blogging and realize that the photos aren't exactly the prettiest photos on the blog block, nor are they stamped appropriately or sized properly. I was also very nervous back then, and boy howdy do I get chatty when I'm nervous. :) Over the next few months (through 2015), I plan to go through and update as many of the posts as I can, at least for their photos if nothing else, as well as add links to my categories bar. *So a very big THANK YOU to those of you who like the blog and keep coming back, even through my trials and errors and updates. I love you guys! ♥♥♥♥

I am a very firm believer that there's no one way or right way to parent children, as they are all different, and all of our family needs are different. Although we all have our own opinions, views and styles of raising children, I know we all love our children the same. Therefore, I encourage you to open your minds to some of the products, articles, activities, etc. that you will find in this blog. I also encourage open and friendly discussion and debate.
