Homemade Playdough

Making homemade playdough is super easy and only takes about ten minutes total time. It feels and even smells identical to the playdough that you would buy from a store, and you probably already have the ingredients laying around. My daughter loves it and technically it is edible, but I wouldn't recommend letting your child munch on it at snack time. It has a lot of salt, so don't let your pets eat loads of it either!

You will need:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 tbsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tbsp. oil
- food coloring
(For the playdough in the photo above, I actually halved this recipe for each individual color. I also used neon food coloring to get more vibrant colors!)

Put all of your ingredients in a saucepan and cook them on low-medium heat, stirring continuously until the dough reaches your preferred consistency. Let it cool before taking it out of it's pan and storing it/giving it to your child. See? Super quick and easy! I store mine in an air tight plastic container and they never dry out. Like any other playdough, they will probably need replacing from time to time as they get dirty or mixed together.Enjoy!
